The Eco model of VinFast’s second electric SUV, the three-row VF9, with a 330-mile range, will start at $71,000.

All VF9s will come with a head-up display and a heated driver’s seat as standard, and that price is $10,000 less than the base price that was previously advertised.

The 2024 VF9 is finally scheduled to begin deliveries in September.

VinFast has declared that the first instances of its VF9 mid-size electric SUV would be delivered to consumers in the United States on Tuesday, November 19. With a starting price of $71,000, the VF9 is the brand’s second model available in the United States.

The Vietnamese startup automaker’s second electric SUV, the VinFast VF9, might soon be available for purchase. About a year has passed since VinFast revealed the three-row crossover’s estimated range; the vehicle was initially scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2023. With deliveries anticipated to start within the next month, VinFast has now reduced the price of the VF9 by $10,000.

VinFast is currently marketing the VF9 for $71,000 for the most economical Eco trim, when the base price was previously listed at $81,000. The $75,000 Plus trim adds opulent amenities including second-row captain’s chairs, vegan leather upholstery, and a panoramic glass roof. In addition, the Plus has better front passenger and second-row seats, a 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory, ventilation, and massaging capabilities, and 21-inch wheels as opposed to the Eco’s 20-inch ones. A 13-speaker sound system, a heated driver’s seat, a head-up display, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen are standard on all VF9s.

According to VinFast, the VF9 will be delivered to dealerships in September. Although the year is almost over, the VF9 will still be sold initially for the 2024 model year. Deliveries of the VF9 are already under way in the automaker’s native nation, and VF9s have been seen testing on American roads for at least a year. The VF9 was first unveiled as the VF e36 back in 2021.

Last September, the EPA certified the VF9 with a 330-mile range in the Eco trim, compared to 291 miles in the Plus trim. A 123.0-kWh battery pack powers two electric motors in the electric SUV, which together produce 402 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. According to VinFast, the VF9 can be charged from 10 to 70 percent in 35 minutes using a DC fast-charger and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds. The more costly Rivian R1S and more costly Kia EV9 models will compete with the VF9.
