The 10th iteration of Apple’s iPad has a speedier processor and a larger screen, making it “incredibly convenient and amazingly clear.”
Be aware! There’s no need to wait until Black Friday if you’re looking for a good deal on a high-quality tablet because Amazon recently reduced the price of the 10th generation iPad by $70. The newest model in Apple’s range is a fantastic option for work, streaming, and gaming because it offers remarkable performance along with easy access to a huge ecosystem of apps and peripherals.
Why is this an excellent offer? 💰
Significant savings on Apple’s newest iPads are uncommon. In addition to the fact that our own Rick Broida named this the greatest tablet of 2024 overall, getting the newest model at a cheaper cost is usually a huge plus. Pink and silver are also on sale, but they cost a dollar more. The colors that will save you the most are blue and yellow.
I need this, but why? 🤔
Even though you might not require the newest iPad, having one nearby makes life much easier. It is a small, incredibly light device that can easily fit into your bag and is powerful enough to take the place of your laptop for the majority of chores. Any screen that came before it would have felt like an outdated tube TV when you swiped and scrolled through your material on the larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display.
You’re in for a treat if you frequently switch between a dozen apps, watch videos, and respond to messages simultaneously. Whatever you throw at this iPad, it’s prepared to handle it. Additionally, if you enjoy gaming, you may play even the most taxing games without experiencing any frame drops thanks to the graphics capabilities.
And let’s not forget about accessories. The Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, which naturally work incredibly well with this model, allow you to transform it into a creative powerhouse or a productivity machine whenever you feel like it, whether you’re typing out a large presentation, jotting down ideas in Notes, or doodling on Procreate. Supporting Apple Intelligence is the single thing it is unable to do. You’ll need to purchase an iPad Air, iPad Pro, or the recently released iPad Mini for that.
The opinions of reviewers
More than 17,000 enthusiastic evaluations have been left for this iPad by users, including one from Rick Broida, our reliable tech tester.
Advantages
When Broida remarks, “There’s just something about the iPad,” “Apple deserves praise for creating a tablet that is incredibly appealing in spite of its exorbitant cost. In reality, after a redesign in 2022, it became even more outrageous: Apple raised the price from the semi-affordable $329 to the disappointing $449. (I guess it puts the sale price in perspective.)
According to Rick, Apple also made a number of internal upgrades, such as a USB-C charging port, a speedier processor, additional RAM (4GB instead of 3GB), and Bluetooth 5.0 (up from 4.2). (Goodbye, Lightning!) While none of these improvements are essential, they do enhance a tablet that is already quite good.
A devoted fan left this five-star review: “This upgrade for my daughter’s old iPad is fantastic. She never stops gushing about how much faster this one is, how smoothly games run on it, and how stunning the pictures are. It hasn’t given us any technical problems, and like other Apple products, it was quite easy to set up. The color selections of [the] tenth generation make it look good. The pink one was really popular. The battery lasts a long time. She doesn’t need to plug it in to watch TV or play games for hours on end.
“As I get older, vision challenges make it inconvenient to spend a lot of screen time on my iPhone — whether it’s checking emails, Facebook posting or playing games,” stated an other customer. “Even though it’s only been a few weeks since I made the decision to upgrade to the iPad, I’m really happy with my purchase—and it was an investment, as I chose the newer model with more memory. The screen is quite clear, and it’s very convenient.
Cons
“The negative? One reviewer with five stars said, “The new design has reverted to the square-edged design language for the body, I prefer the curved body style (i.e. 8th or 9th gen).” The reviewer also said, “The smallest memory size is too small for heavy users and there is a pretty stiff upcharge for the larger configuration.”
The lack of Face ID was one of the main complaints. “No Face ID is ridiculous at this point, and the fingerprint scanner being located in the power button, while fast acting, isn’t as handy as when it was easier to access on the front panel.”
Do you have artistic talent? When you combine this iPad with an Apple Pencil and Pro Create—possibly the most potent app available for less than $10—you have a portable digital art studio.
