- A leaker says the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have the same dimensions as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
- Also apparently bigger than its predecessor is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
- Bigger screens could revitalize the Galaxy Z range.
Foldable phones are nearly always massive – at least when unfurled – but next year’s most well-known versions could be even bigger than we are used to since the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will apparently feature larger screens than their predecessors.
Ross Young, with a stellar history for display-related leaks, claims this. Young asserts especially that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s screen dimensions will be the same as those of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
If you were hoping to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was exclusively released in South Korea, then the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be for you since this “Special Edition” edition is a bigger variation of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Should the Z Fold 7 have the same screen sizes as the Z Fold Special Edition, its main foldable screen will be 8 inches (up from 7.6 inches on the Z Fold 6) and its cover screen would be 6.5 inches, up from 6.3 inches on the Z Fold 6.
Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Young says its 6.85-inch foldable screen will be up from 6.7 inches on the Galaxy Flip 6 and its roughly 4-inch cover screen will be up from 3.4 inches on the Z Flip 6.
Greater may be better.
Although we would take this leak with some salt, it sounds like a good change. While the cover screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is somewhat bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the primary screen hasn’t changed since the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. Samsung has maintained the screens on its Z Flip range the same size for a few of years.
Actually, not much has changed at all over the past few generations of Samsung’s foldables, thus they could very use some significant improvements. Ideally, then, Samsung has more planned than just bigger screens; however, this would be a decent beginning nevertheless.
