In a “Friday night flurry,” President-elect Donald Trump unveiled the list of those who will be occupying the highest positions in his administration. This included the hiring of labor and treasury secretaries.

President-elect Donald Trump has revealed his most recent selections to fill important roles in his future cabinet in a late “Friday flurry.” Trump was keen to make the announcements before the holiday weekend, according to two people with knowledge of the situation. To make sure it received more media attention, the Republican firebrand was particularly keen to reveal his choice for the Treasury Department before the weekend, the insider said CNN.

In less than an hour on Friday evening, Trump announced the names of his most recent selections. The president-elect also succeeded in appointing Treasury and Labour secretaries, two important cabinet posts, around the time of the list’s release. He appointed Oregon Representative Lori ChavezDeRemer as the new Secretary of Labor and hedge-fund investor Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.

Scott Bessent: Trump appointed billionaire and hedge fund manager Scott Bessent to head the US Treasury Department. For a number of years, the 62-year-old has been an instructor at Yale University.

Chavez-DeRemer, Lori: The delegate from Oregon was appointed Secretary of Labor by the president-elect. It’s important to remember that earlier this month, Chavez-DeRemer lost her bid for reelection to the 5th District of Oregon.

The Office of Management and Budget was headed by Russell Vought, who was appointed by Trump. Vought was a major contributor to Project 2025, the divisive conservative policy framework that Trump has tried to disassociate himself from, which is what makes the selection intriguing. During Trump’s first term, Vought oversaw the budget.

Trump appointed former congressman Dr. Dave Weldon to head the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will lead Health and Human Services, which includes the CDC.

In the meanwhile, he appointed Dr. Janette Nesheiwat as the next surgeon general. “Dr. Nesheiwat is a fervent supporter of public health and preventative medicine and an effective communicator. In a statement, he added, “She is dedicated to making sure that Americans have access to reasonably priced, high-quality healthcare and believes in empowering individuals to take charge of their health to live longer, healthier lives.”

Alex Wong: Wong was appointed as the Republican leader’s principal deputy for national security.

Sebastian Gorka: He will serve as the counterterrorism senior director.

Dr. Marty Makary: Dr. Makary was appointed by Trump as the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) commissioner.

Scott Turner: The former NFL player will serve as the head of HUD, the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

RFK Jr. was instrumental in selecting the best health positions.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was instrumental in choosing the names to fill up the Department of Health and Human Services, the most of which were revealed on Friday, a source close to the Trump campaign told CNN. These roles included selecting the director of the CDC and the commissioner of the FDA.

The president-elect appointed Kennedy last week to head the Health Department, which employs 80,000 people.
