Our pay scales are competitive and reflective of job responsibilities.  For the majority of positions, the salary ranges are posted at the top of each job posting.

Group Benefits Plan
Benefit eligible positions are offered a benefits plan that includes dental and extended health care coverage for you and your family. The group plan covers, but is not limited to, prescription drugs, vision care, life and disability insurance, and paramedical practitioners.  In addition, the plan also provides eligible employees with a set annual dollar amount and the choice to assign that amount to a health spending account or a wellness spending account, or a combination of the two.

Eligible positions participate in the Local Authorities Pension Plan, which is a defined benefit pension plan that provides a member with a set pension or fixed income for their lifetime once the member retires.

Flexible Work Options
The City of Leduc offers flexible work options that contribute to overall productivity while helping employees balance work and other responsibilities. The options available will vary depending on the type of work involved.

Averaging Arrangements
An employee works more hours per day paid at the regular rate of pay, averaged out over an averaging period, which can be from one to 52 weeks.  This generates regular scheduled days off for the employee.

Earned Day Off (EDO) Program
An employee works additional hours during scheduled days (overtime, hour for hour) in exchange for a scheduled day off, paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay.

Working from Home
Some positions may be eligible to work from home for a portion of the work week. A working from home arrangement is voluntary, and occurs on regularly scheduled work days. Technology is used to maintain appropriate connectivity and access. Working from home must take place from an approved designated home workspace.

Training and Development
At the City of Leduc, we strongly believe in supporting the training and development of our employees and in helping them grow in their careers. Ongoing employee training helps maintain our ability to provide services to our residents while at the same time developing the skills necessary to develop new and innovative service levels.

Each year, the City offers a variety of online and in-person training and development courses that are available at no cost. Additionally, the City offers an educational assistance program and reimbursement for professional membership fees, which are required by a professional association for the purposes of maintaining a professional status (i.e., PEng, CPHR).

Employees work with their supervisor to put together an annual work plan that helps guide them in developing their interests and achieving their professional goals.

Employee and Family Assistance Program
The City of Leduc cares about the health and well-being of its employees. The City offers all employees access to an Employee and Family Assistance Program through Homewood Health at no cost. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this confidential service provides employees and their dependents access to professional counselling, coaching and support/referrals to appropriate community service programs.
