A busy offseason awaits Inter Miami CF before the 2021 MLS campaign, and David Beckham is back in Florida as the next steps unfold.
Beckham, the club’s co-owner and president of soccer operations, shared a message of encouragement on Instagram from their facility. He wrote that there’s “lots of hard work ahead” and that he’s “grateful to be back.”
Within the past month at Inter Miami, sporting director Paul McDonough has stepped down and the club mutually agreed to part ways with head coach Diego Alonso. Club captain Luis Robles also retired, adding to the list of player turnover.
Inter Miami narrowly made the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, earning the Eastern Conference’s No. 10 seed before a prompt Play-In Round exit against Nashville SC. They have some big names back, however, including forward Gonzalo Higuain and midfielders Blaise Matuidi and Rodolfo Pizarro.
