Tiny Nick’s Gambling Picks: 12/25 – Zone Coverage

NCAA Basketball – Iowa/Minnesota Over 163 (-110):

It’s fair to say that the Iowa offense is in a slump, especially struggling from deep. Sometimes a game against the Gophers can be the cure for what ails you, as we saw when Illinois put 92 on them. In the last three games for Minnesota, one team has gotten to 90 points, and I suspect one will again here.

The key to this game for me is how many offensive rebounds the Gophers have been allowing: Over 12 per game in their last three. Iowa averages over 13 offensive boards a game, and if they can get their sluggish offense lots of extra looks, they’ll put up plenty of points here. Minnesota should do their part as well, they score 82.5 PPG and are 28th nationally in overall pace metrics. I think that the Illinois game showed the Gophers will struggle to contain the Big 10 elite, so expect another points outburst by Iowa here.

NCAA Basketball – Michigan/Nebraska Under 149.5 (-110):

This total is very high because of Michigan’s high shooting percentage and Nebraska’s relatively high pace metrics. But they’re mirror opposite teams in those respects, as Nebraska can’t shoot (238th in field goal percentage) and Michigan plays at the 211th pace nationally. Neither of these teams takes or makes many 3-pointers either, and both are good on the defensive glass which will limit scoring. And interestingly, both squads opened Big 10 play with games that landed on 120 total points. I’m expecting a classic Big 10 rock fight here, and the metrics back it up, so take the under.

NBA – Nets -3 @ Celtics (-110):

Alright, it’s official… the Brooklyn Nets are the coolest team in the East. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Joe Harris, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Co. are ready to show the world how serious they are as a title contender and coming off of a beat down of the Golden State Warriors, I expect them to do just that. I’m keeping this in the degenerates section because the NBA can be dicey but I’ll be adding this to a Christmas parlay for sure.

Every day he will offer his Locks and Degenerate picks. Locks are the games he’s confident in. Degenerates are entertaining, but riskier picks.
