Good for you Crystal, but unfortunately it is not that way in most churches. If you look on the surface people apear to be in love but it is all a setup. As soon as you come under fire and need someone to help you all that love goes out the window and guess who's the blame? That's right, the snake in the pulpit. In any family, children will always imitate a parent.

As for those high and mighty spiritual members who are so spiritual that they are of no earthly value--I say they are like ostriches with their heads in the sand. They only see what they want to see and if you're not a part of their little group, then shame on you.

I guess it all depends where you go to church. My church is not like that. We love each other unconditionally the way the Bible says we should.

I have been feeling this way for a long time, that is, about Christian behavior. Eventhough not all Christians exhibit such behavior, we are all charged for it. No church or Christian is perfect, and that is what the world is looking for-perfection.

Most people believe that if you profess to be a Christian that you should be perfect and without flaw. But this is far from the truth.

Far too many churches attach extras to salvation. They attach rules in appearal, social life, service attendance, and things that have nothing to do with salvation. In essence, people are discouraged from going to God by way of the church and they seek other means. But Jesus says, "Anyone who enters by any other way is considered a theif and a robber," meaning, Jesus is the only way to salvation and He expects that we go to church - not to be saved, but to learn of Him.

I can identify with what you call "Snakes in the Pulpit" because I have encountered some of the most rotten pastors ever. But are we to follow them, or are we to follow god? God will deal with the snakes if we deal with ourselves.

That's the way the Good Ole Boy System operates in New Orleans. Those of us who has had to endure this "do as we please" mentality of the NOPD are certainly not surprized... are you?
